The Service Graph Connector for Rubrik is a scoped application designed to seamlessly integrate Rubrik’s data protection capabilities with the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This integration allows organizations to synchronize and manage protected workloads, ensuring accurate and up-to-date representation of their IT environments within ServiceNow.
The ServiceNow Service Graph Connector for Rubrik seamlessly integrates Rubrik’s data protection insights into the ServiceNow CMDB.
Core Capabilities:
- Guided setup gets you up and running in minutes
- Import a variety of nodes, clusters, and snappable types from Rubrik on a nightly basis and map to the best practice CMDB classes using ServiceNow's IRE and RTE
- Customizable GraphQL query framework
- Scripted Extension Points provide additional opportunities to customize or override the data mapping
- Cluster Metrics Import — Cluster capacity and storage metrics are now imported from Rubrik and stored in a dedicated Cluster Metrics table. All values are stored in bytes and displayed in human-readable gigabyte format on the cluster record form. The following metrics are included:
- Available Capacity
- Average Daily Growth
- CDP Capacity
- Immutability Overhead
- Ingested Archival Storage
- Ingested Snapshot Storage
- Live Mount Capacity
- Miscellaneous Capacity
- Pending Snapshot Capacity
- Physical Archival Storage
- Physical Snapshot Storage
- Snapshot Capacity
- Total Capacity
- Used Capacity
- vSphere VM Import Updates
- vSphere VM to Virtualization Server Relationship— vSphere Virtual Machine instances now establish a "Runs On" dependency relationship with their parent vCenter (Virtualization Server), improving alignment with horizontal discovery data already present in most customer environments. An IRE data source rule prevents unintended creation of new Virtualization Server records during import.
- vSphere VM Cluster Relationship Type Changed— The relationship between Rubrik Cluster and vSphere Virtual Machine instances has been updated from "Manages::Managed By" to "Protects::Protected By" to better reflect the nature of Rubrik's data protection role.
- EC2 Import Target Table Updated — AWS EC2 instances are now imported into the base VM Instance table (cmdb_ci_vm_instance) instead of the EC2-specific virtual machine table, improving alignment with ServiceNow's CMDB structure.
- Exocompute Clusters Filtered from Import — Exocompute clusters are now excluded from the cluster import by default. Only CDM and Polaris cluster types are imported.

Version 1.1.1 - Patch Release

Version 1.1.0 - Minor Release
Fixes
-
VMware virtual machine instance CIs were previously created using the Rubrik ID. We now use the VMware MOID(vm-xxxx) to identify the virtual machine instances which will not create duplicate VM entries.
-
Rubrik Cluster Source Recency Timestamp is now set to the current date/time of the most recent discovery. Previously it was using Rubrik’s Cluster Last Connection Time, which would not match the rest of the CIs that were discovered, and could potentially result in stale looking Cluster CIs.
Enhancements
-
New Discovered Types
-
Postgres
-
DB2
-
MSSQL instance version field now being mapped to MSSQL Instance CI
-
Oracle DB version field now being mapped to Oracle DB CI
-
Compliance Status field added to all workload CIs from Rubrik. The compliance time range is since the last snapshot was taken. The new field is in the Rubrik Additional Information table.
-
Last Snapshot Time field added to all workload CIs from Rubrik. The new field is in the Rubrik Additional Information table.
-
Protection Status field added to all workload CIs from Rubrik. The new field is in the Rubrik Additional Information table.
-
Rubrik Workload Protection Status module added to view newly added fields from Additional Information table.
-
Rubrik Cluster nodes now map to a server in addition to the cluster node. Serial number as well as other hardware information are now populated. Additional Rubrik cluster fields can be mapped through the integration of ETL.
- Compatability tested for Zurich release.
