Why Boards4u?
Boards4U is created with the single purpose to visualize and plan your work in an agile manner within ServiceNow. Currently we support a few types of boards. With these boards you can create many different combinations of boards. This is due to the highly configurable nature of the Boards4u application.
Different types of work
Building DevOps Teams is hard enough. But to use different tools for managing your work for a single team is even harder. Therefore we created the possibility to visualize more types of data in a single board.
Examples: Stories, Incidents, Vulnerabilities. Or non-it related. Maintenance Requests, HR Tasks.
What is important?
Using the board you can configure in different ways stuff that is more important to your team. Want to clearly show new critical incidents in your agile backlog? No problem!
Examples: Mark blocked stories, highlight Critical incidents, Show failed test results.
Match flows
An incident has a different process than a story or a vulnerability response task. Besides the ability to plan we can even visualize different types of work on a single board. Just create your mapping to your lanes.
Examples: Match Incident Work in Progress to Doing and Vulnerability Investigation also to Doing.
Continuous integration
Do you have a continuous integration pipeline? How cool would it be to integrate this with your board. To show your CI build and commits in your stories. But also move them, or block them when testing fails.
Board Types
Sprint board
Sprintboard is a board which has two main features which makes it different from other types of boards:
- The backlog
- Dynamic Lanes
Dynamic Lanes can be configured as any type of record in the ServiceNow System. Most commonly used the collect current and planned sprints. The purpose of the board is to assign Tasks to this lane. For example assign a Story to a Sprint.
The Backlog is used for all Tasks that are not related to a Dynamic Lane. For example show all stories that are not related to a Sprint.
Task board
Your team members work on Tasks within the ServiceNow system. The taskboard is especially made for them.
Using the taskboard you configure the flow for you team. Want to work: “To Do / Doing / Done” Or rather have a more complicated flow. Including Review, Validation, Fast Lane etc.
Each board is easily configurable with different lanes. Then you configure which tasks to show on that board. This can be multiple types of work: Stories, Incidents and Changes. Or HR Tasks and Facility Tasks.

The application requires Service Portal to run, and can visualize any task-based data.
